Why We’re Serving with Team Rubicon
General Stanley McChrystal and Jonathan Smidt Join Team Rubicon’s Board of Directors
Dear TR Nation,
It’s with great honor that we accept the appointment to serve on Team Rubicon’s Board of Directors. We’re no strangers to the tireless work this incredible team performs and how much you have all accomplished over the last six years with the support of our donors. We look forward to contributing to Team Rubicon’s exciting momentum.
Team Rubicon is growing rapidly — from a team of eight in 2010 to nearly 35,000 men and women who raised their hands to serve their community, many after hanging up their uniforms. Taking the skills and experiences many acquired through military service and pairing those with first responders and other highly capable individuals will allow us to disrupt a century-old industry and become the best disaster response organization in the world. Achieving that goal will not be easy. Fortunately, we know you are all up for the challenge, because you have already proven the long-lasting impact you can have on communities affected by disasters.
We signed up to serve with Team Rubicon because the mission is clear, it’s critically needed and it’s powerful — help communities affected by disasters and in turn, help those who serve them. We also recognize the driving force behind all of the impact Team Rubicon is making is you. By generously giving your time, skills, talent, and dollars to the mission, you’re making our country stronger and more resilient through effective disaster response. Thank you for your commitment to the team, and we look forward to serving alongside you.
Sincerely,
Gen. Stanley McChrystal and Jonathan Smidt
